Planning Permission

If planning consent is required for your project Foxtons Frames are happy to take care of this for you. Our highly experienced surveyors will visit your home, draw up the necessary scaled plans and present exactly what’s required to your local authority. Planning is a relatively simple procedure and Foxtons Frames are highly experienced in dealing with planning applications on our clients behalf.

Please be aware that planning permission could be required for several reasons. During our site visit we will help you establish if planning is required.

Planning Permission may be required for the following reasons:

You may have already extended to your property limit.
You are building beyond the rear House wall elevation (perhaps to the side of your property).
Does your property have permitted development?

You can find information about how to apply for planning permission on the Governments Planning Portal website – Which is very helpful. You can also use the tools and information on this site to find out about planning in your area and what developments you can perform around your home. However, please feel free to give one of the Foxtons Frames representatives to discuss any planning concerns that you may have.

Do I need building control?

It depends on the project but for most major construction projects in your home, such as extensions and conversions, you may need to make a building regulations application so that your local building control team (or) approved inspector can visit the site and check that any on site building work is fully compliant. This procedure is dealt with by Foxtons Frames Ltd professionals on our clients behalf.

Building Control

As an experienced building company Foxtons Frames are used to dealing with Building control applications and are up to date on the most recent Control legislation. It’s a legal requirement for building work to meet the Building Regulations (2010) and when necessary, building control services (also known as building control bodies) check that on site building work complies with the Building Regulations and associated legislation.

Work that needs to be checked by building control includes:

Alternation such as structural Lintels.
All buildings classed as an extension
Building over a certain size

Foxtons Frames Surveying Department

Upon receipt of your order you will hear from the Foxtons Frames technical surveyor.

Our highly trained surveyors visit your home in order to double check everything on your sales order. Following the technical surveyors visit you will receive clear and precise base, brick and frame plans ready for your approval. Everything Foxtons Frames build is “Made to measure” so confirming the fine detail with all of our important clients prior to manufacture is critical.

Once we have your approval you will shortly hear from the Foxtons Frames Installation department in order to book in a mutually agreeable start date for your proposed work. The time scale for this process can vary depending on your order details.
